as a teacher or speaker for groups, demonstrations, private lessons, teaching children with a serious interest in art, and creative retreats.

Please get in touch by using the contact form at the base of this page.

My approach is rooted in careful observation, craftsmanship, and the steady cultivation of artistic confidence. Whether in a classroom, studio, or retreat setting, I teach with clarity, patience, and genuine respect for the creative process.

Art Groups

I teach art groups of all levels, from beginners to those wishing to deepen their technique and artistic understanding. Each session is thoughtfully structured to encourage growth — developing the artist’s eye, precision, and individual style. My specialist themes include birds, flowers and foliage, architecture and portraits.  Mediums include watercolour, gouache, drawing, gold leaf and medieval style miniature painting.

Demonstrations

I am available for demonstrations at art groups and societies. During these sessions, I work in real time, explaining technique, materials, and the decisions that shape a painting as it develops. Demonstrations offer artists a close look at process — the quiet, practical steps that often get missed in a classroom setting. They’re informative, grounded, and give participants a chance to ask questions as the work unfolds.

Private one-to-one tuition

Private tuition allows for a focused and personal approach. I design lessons around your own artistic aims — whether you wish to refine drawing skills, explore painting techniques, or build a cohesive body of work. This is an ideal option for those seeking individual attention and quiet, consistent development.

Serious Art Study for Children

I work with a small number of children who show a genuine interest in learning art. These sessions are not “fun art” classes, but structured lessons for young artists who wish to develop real skill and understanding. I hold an up-to-date DBS check, and provide a calm, encouraging environment where commitment and creativity are valued equally.

Art Retreats

Teaching on art retreats offers participants the chance to immerse themselves deeply in their practice. My sessions bring focus, clarity, and inspiration — blending demonstration, personal guidance, and space for independent exploration.
